Create an inspiring space for play, study and relaxation with our children’s rug range.
Whether you have children or not, for many of us September still evokes those very
same ‘back to school’ feelings as it did when we were younger. The end of the hot
weather and summer holidays and the arrival of cool, crisp mornings are perfect for a
fresh start and renewed focus. New stationery, a rite of passage for school, college and
university attendees, provides a blank page to start dreaming, planning and working on
new projects. We might be some years past formal education here at Heugah Interiors,
but we still love September for getting our teeth into projects and improvements.
For children and teenagers, their bedroom might be a place where they go to focus on
their new school projects. Homework, which for some is an opportunity to learn more
about their favourite subjects and for others a dreaded task which casts a gloom over
an entire evening or weekend, is often completed there. Bedrooms are also a child or
young person’s sanctuary and a place to express themselves – posters, bedding, wall
paint and other decorative items all carefully chosen to be fun, reflective of their
personality…, or ‘cool’! If you’re using the time since your children or teenagers went
back to school to redecorate their bedroom (with their creative input, of course!), we
have a wide selection of rugs specifically designed for children’s rooms. That means
they feature fun and colourful designs and, for the most part, are machine washable!
That makes them ideal for those who love getting paint and pastels out for their art
homework or who love snacks while they work.
Let’s take a closer look at some of the different designs available in our children’s rug
collection.
The Lorena Canals Edgar Plans Series
These fabulous and fun rugs are a collaboration with internationally renowned artist
Edgar Plans and are an amazing way to add an urban, artsy vibe into a child or young
adult’s room. They are crafted from 100% wool, made with non-toxic dyes and can be
popped in the machine and washed at 30 degrees. Perfect for any cartoon or art-
obsessed youngster! Our favourite has to be the Miss Mighty Mouse Rug:

The Kilim Birds Rug from AFK
For younger children, homework might consist of developing their counting skills or
working on colour identification. This super rug, which is hand woven using 100% wool,
is the perfect tool to help children learn while they play, as you ask them to point out
different colours of birds to you or count the number on each line. This rug can be spot
cleaned but isn’t machine washable, so some customers use it as a wall hanging in kid’s
rooms! Take a look here: https://www.heugahinteriors.com/rugs/rug-type/children-s-

The Lorena Canals Ombre Vanilla Rug in Soft Pink
Another super rug from Lorena Canals, this ticks the ombre and pastel colours trends
and could be just the ticket if you’re updating a room’s aesthetic from child to teenager
stage! These rugs are handmade from cotton, feature fun tufts on each corner, are
machine washable and ideal for those with allergies to wool or dust. There are several
other colours available too, so have a browse here:

The Children’s Puzzle Forest Rug
This rug is filled with the creatures who live in a forest, but how long will it take to spot
them all? The perfect floor covering for a young and aspiring nature lover, it’s made
from a smart synthetic wool which means it will maintain its bold colours and it’s easy to
clean, water resistant, anti-static, anti-bacterial and anti-dust mite. How many different
forest animals can you spot? https://www.heugahinteriors.com/rugs/rug-type/children-s-
