Product Description
Tres Ochre, a rug that reflects the Nanimarquina passion for craftsmanship, specifically paying tribute to the ancient craft of weaving. With this collection, the desire is to reclaim the basics, to appreciate the beauty in details and respect tradition. A traditional Indian flat-weave Dhurrie rug with the unique quality in the production of three independent parts, in which different fibres predominate. The proportion and combination of wool, felt, and cotton generate changes in tone and irregularities in the weave, bringing the pattern to life
6mm high and hand loomed on a traditional Dhurrie using 49% New Zealand wool, 45% wool felt and 5% cotton. New Zealand wool is known to be the whitest, cleanest, purest and most natural in the world. Its softness is due in part to the altitude and the vegetation available to the herds.

Nanimarquina – a unique rug for every person, space and emotion!
Nani Marquina founded her company in 1987 in Barcelona, breaking into the market with a new vision of that time: turning the classic rug into a contemporary design product. Her designs quickly won many accolades and in 1992 she decided to visit India where she discovered the true meaning of the rug and the multiple possibilities there are for reinterpreting it.
Their interest is in how design affects our behaviour, from the physical and emotional perspectives. They embark on the design process from observation, intuition and discovery, responding to the needs of every moment – and then bring on board designers and artists with fresh perspectives and designs, as well as crafts to explore new techniques and materials.
All Nanimarquina rugs are handmade in India, Pakistan and Nepal by skilled artisans who master ancestral local techniques. These are countries where rugs are culturally invaluable and where the best weavers are found. Every rug takes up to 11 weeks to make. The outcome is a unique piece that will help preserve an ancient cultural legacy.
Since their launch they have been developing sustainability strategies that shape the company’s global actions, and through their practical understanding of sustainability, they assess the short and long-term impact of each design.
