Bring summer holiday style into your home!

Now that another school year has drawn to a close and the kids are finally off school for
summer, it’s time to get those holiday plans underway. While the weather may not have
been all that kind this spring and summer, we’re thrilled to see the forecast take a turn
for the better. The sun is finally shining, bringing warmth and brightness that makes it so
much easier to entertain kids – and provides a perfect backdrop for making lots of
amazing summer memories.

Whether you’re planning a getaway abroad or looking forward to a staycation here in the
UK, the summer holidays are a special time for families. It’s a season that gives kids the
chance to find new hobbies, see friends and family and expand their horizons with trips
overseas. While parents have the job of juggling work and holiday activities, a juggle
that can bring more than a little bit of stress, the summer holidays are usually looked
back on fondly!
For our July blog, we’re thinking about how you can create spaces that evoke the same
joy and serenity you find on holiday, right in the heart of your home. Let’s explore some
beautiful rug designs inspired by the busy and (hopefully) balmy summer moments
stretching ahead:

A rug inspired by coastal escapes

If your perfect summer getaway involves warm sandy beaches and a salty breeze, the
Lorena Canals ‘Waves’ Rug is the perfect addition to your home. Handmade from
natural cotton in a greenish blue, this rug boasts a wavy pattern simulating the constant
movements of the ocean.

Plus, it comes with a set of handcrafted accessories that are ideal for youngsters who
want to recreate their beach fun at home: a small island with a palm tree, a boat with
anchors made of braided cords and a dolphin, all woven from organic cotton. If you’d
love to add a hint of the tranquillity and beauty of coastal landscapes to your home this
rug could be just the ticket!

Bohemian vibes from exotic destinations

For some people, a holiday is less about relaxing by a pool or beach, and more about exploring the history, culture and food of far-flung destinations. If you love the idea of decorating your home with feature rugs in vibrant colours and intricate patterns inspired by exotic locales, we have a design that you might just love. The GAN Rug ‘Kelim Naidu’ features a pattern inspired by ethnic geometric drawings and the colour could tick that ‘unexpected red’ trend that’s taken over interiors accounts on Instagram this year!

Classic English countryside charm

We think that when the weather plays ball, a holiday exploring the gorgeous English
countryside can be just as good as an overseas escape! Stunning landscapes, country
pubs, festivals, food, picnics, sport and so much more combine for a unique experience.
If you would love to evoke a classic English garden scene in your home, the Laura
Ashley Rug ‘Parterre Sage’ mimics white wisteria tumbling over stone walls…

Shapes and angles for urban explorers

Perhaps uncovering the best restaurants, museums, shopping haunts and bars in some
of the best cities in the world is more your thing, and perhaps taking some of the angles
and geometric shapes of the urban landscape is more your style. A stylish patterned
rug, such as the Harlequin ‘Popova’ Rug in Caramel Slate Shell, can bring a touch of
urban flair to a home while keeping things welcoming and cosy too.

As much as we all enjoy a good holiday, however far or near we go, there’s nothing
quite like coming home. Whether it’s the familiarity of your comfy sofa or bed, or the
chance to catch up with friends and share your memories, home is where we ultimately
belong. At Heugah Interiors, we’re all about making sure your home is the perfect
reflection of your personality, and that’s why our range spans so many designers,
styles, colours and price points. Why not take a look around and see what catches your
eye?
