Reporting back from the January 2024 flooring and interiors shows!

We love working in interior design because it’s always evolving and changing.
Sometimes a new trend will come along and totally transform the spaces we live in with
incredible new colour and texture that would have been unthinkable a few years before.
We’ve seen some interiors trends endure for years, and others move on much more
quickly – and you can guarantee that there’s always something new around the corner!
Here at Heugah Interiors we keep a closer eye on the latest trends so that we’re
stocking what our customers want and need. Plus, we’re. always in dialogue with the
rug design companies that we work with. That way, we’re able to bring you the very
latest new launches and highlight emerging trends that could influence your home
design choices.

Kicking off the year at Domotex
An important part of that is visiting the trade shows that bring together brands, interior
designers and buyers. Some of the most important shows in the calendar take place in
Europe at the start of the new year, so every year we pack our bags and head there too.
First up was Domotex, a show dedicated to all things flooring – including rugs and mats.
This year Domotex Europe was held in Hannover, Germany, from the 16th to the 19th
of January and it hosted 1,000 exhibitors from 130 countries in nine huge halls. One of
the main themes this year was sustainability, and it was fascinating to see what different
brands are doing to ensure their products aren’t harming the environment. We had
plenty of very useful meetings with some of our suppliers and look forward to sharing
their new designs with you later in the year.

Domotex includes an awards ceremony that recognises the top flooring and rug design
talent in the industry, and we always enjoy looking at the work of the finalists and
winners. Huge congratulations to all the winners this year and here are photos of some
of our favourite finalists – Maison Rhizomes, Jaipur Rugs, Wool & Silk, Sahari Milano

Followed by Paris for Maison&Objet
After a quick turnaround in the Cotswolds to ensure all Heugah Interiors orders were
being managed and dispatched as they should be, we headed to Paris for the annual
Maison&Objet show. This year the winter show took place from the 18th to the 22nd of
January, and it covers interior design, furniture and accessories rather than just flooring.

It’s always interesting to go along and see what the new trends and talking points in the
wider interior design space are. . This season’s theme was ‘tech Eden’ , the idea of
reinventing spaces with a mix of nature and technology.

We were thrilled to catch up with the teams from three of our existing suppliers, Lorena
Canals, Bleuu Studio and Brita Sweden, who shared their plans for the year ahead. It’s
so important to us that we have real, human relationships with the brands we stock, and
we love the chance to see what they are working on.

Now, we’re back in Chipping Campden and raring to go. There are lots of exciting new rug designs coming down the tracks over the coming months, so make sure you keep an eye on our newsletter and
