Tres Outdoor Stripes Black from our Nanimarquina, an elegant rug collection that highlights the acclaimed casual style of the designer and artist Jaime Hayon, now also available for outdoor areas, thanks to being hand-woven with 100% recycled PET. A highly resistant fibre with good thermal properties. It brings design to the outdoors.

Depicted with a delicate stroke, the illustration defines the silhouettes of several imaginary characters that intertwine and coexist in a beautiful composition. Hayon subtly introduces colour through small elements brimming with personality that help to interpret each of the images. Nine faces are distributed at different angles so that the rug can be viewed from any perspective, fitting perfectly in any space.

Nanimarquina introduces the embroidery on kilim technique for the first time, a laborious process handmade in Pakistan where the chain stitch embroidery adds texture and a soft volume that emphasizes the sinuousness of the illustration. Despite its delicate appearance, it is a sturdy technique suitable for both residential and commercial use. The indoor model also includes a tapestry piece that can be hung vertically.

Nanimarquina – a unique rug for every person, space and emotion!

Nani Marquina founded her company in 1987 in Barcelona, breaking into the market with a new vision of that time: turning the classic rug into a contemporary design product. Her designs quickly won many accolades and in 1992 she decided to visit India where she discovered the true meaning of the rug and the multiple possibilities there are for reinterpreting it.

Their interest is in how design affects our behaviour, from the physical and emotional perspectives. They embark on the design process from observation, intuition and discovery, responding to the needs of every moment – and then bring on board designers and artists with fresh perspectives and designs, as well as crafts to explore new techniques and materials.

All Nanimarquina rugs are handmade in India, Pakistan and Nepal by skilled artisans who master ancestral local techniques. These are countries where rugs are culturally invaluable and where the best weavers are found. Every rug takes up to 11 weeks to make. The outcome is a unique piece that will help preserve an ancient cultural legacy.

Since their launch they have been developing sustainability strategies that shape the company’s global actions, and through their practical understanding of sustainability, they assess the short and long-term impact of each design.
