Rug care & maintenance

Regular thorough vacuuming (no beater brush) is recommended to maintain its best appearance.

Spills & Stains – blot with an unbleached clean cotton cloth.

Sisal is super absorbent and will hold onto liquids. If your sisal rug does get wet, allow it to dry completely before placing it back on the floor.

How to dry clean your sisal rug. 1. Begin by sprinkling baking soda or corn flour on top of the rug. 2. Leave the powder to sit on the rug for about one hour in order to absorb all the dirt. 3. Shake the rug to remove excess powder. 4. Afterwards, use the upholstery brush to vacuum the rug.

FADING: We always use the best dyes in our rugs with the most resistance to fading, but there are no textile dyes that are impervious to sunlight so if you leave your rug in a sun lit area fading will occur over time. Turning your rug regularly will ensure that any fading is even.
